Andy McCarthy


Andy discovered yoga when a friend started teaching Iyengar and talked him into trying a class. After initial scepticism, he developed a daily practice. This led to discovering Ashtanga, yin, and hot yoga.

With his background of working in homelessness and mental health, Andy has a special interest in inclusive forms of practice. Alongside Vinyasa and yin, he particularly enjoys the unique challenges of teaching chair yoga. 

Andy’s background in person-centred working carries over into facilitating non-dogmatic classes, encouraging mindful practice and curiosity. Expect a friendly, relaxed style with positive reinforcement and a non-competitive atmosphere.
