Julia Moore

Teacher

Julia started yoga in 1988 whilst at sixth form collage. She was inspired to discover that the practice revealed a state of calm, ease, and confidence that she had never previously known. Julia credits her recovery from asthma, anxiety, and chronic pain from joint hyper-mobility syndrome (JHS) to her ongoing yoga practice.

Due to JHS Julia found that some yoga classes provoked flare ups in her back, hips, shoulder and knees. However if she practiced at home, really listening to her body, she would be pain free. Consequently, in 2002 Julia was drawn to take the 500+ hours yoga teacher training. Since then, she’s done a lot more study and was a full time yoga teacher for fifteen years, offering private and group classes, and specialising in yoga for joint and back pain. Julia has recently qualified as a yoga therapist and is going on to study Integrated Yoga Psychotherapy. She is passionate about the healing benefits of yoga therapy for mental health, as well as physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Julia’s therapeutic yoga classes offer a space for you to connect with your body, breath, mind, your inner wisdom, and your ever-growing capacity for peaceful states of relaxation. You’ll find a warm, nurturing welcoming space for you to just be as you are right now. Working with awareness, as we do in yoga, supports our journey towards wholeness. Wholeness, is a yogic concept of recognising that everything is perfect, exactly as it is in this moment, in all of its messy, complex, wild and glorious imperfection.
